Develop your skills over the course of a summer internship and gain valuable experience in the asset management industry. You’ll also have the chance to potentially earn yourself a place on one of our graduate programmes. Here, we tell you about the business areas we offer internships in.
How do Fidelity’s Fixed Income team create a repeatable competitive advantage? Here’s your chance to find out.
Feel passionate about becoming an investor and making a real difference to our clients’ future? Enjoy working as part of a team and taking ownership of your own work? Our Fixed Income team manages debt securities in a range of funds covering investment grade, high yield, emerging markets, hybrids, and money markets. You will have the opportunity to rotate across multiple teams to gain a holistic understanding of the Fixed Income investment process.
Over the course of a 10-week programme, you’ll have the opportunity to work on live projects, attend meetings and make your own recommendations. We will provide training on financial modelling, research, risk exposure and the commercial aspects of our Fixed Income products. You will complete one or more project during the programme and present your findings to a panel of senior colleagues.
We welcome applications from all degree disciplines. You will need to be in the penultimate year of your degree, graduating in 2025 and available to complete 10 weeks of full-time work this coming summer.
We’re looking for highly driven people with intellectual curiosity, commercial understanding, ambition, resilience, comfort with numeracy and an absolute commitment to serving the best interests of our clients.
You will be intellectually curious and possess the ability and creativity to collect and analyse a range of information, then use it to make judgements on the prospects of industries.
You will have the ability to undertake often complex research, interpret data, judge the merits of differing opinions, and form insights essential to ensure we make wise investments for our clients.
You’ll need the tenacity and confidence to communicate your judgement on whether bonds in a company should be bought or sold and justify your thinking (at times with imperfect information).
We welcome applications from all degree disciplines and all academic achievements.
Every step of the way, you will be supported by an assigned buddy and the wider investment team. You will have a company-wide Fidelity Induction in your first week and then specific technical training in your second week with us. You will also be invited to attend bitesize learning sessions throughout your time with us. Every week, we also offer virtual drop-in sessions with the Early Careers team to answer your questions and support you during the programme.
You will be highly valued here and your development is heavily invested in. Find out about the support and training you receive with your programme.
We like well-rounded applicants, which is why we will ask you questions that will highlight your personality and potential, rather than just numerical capabilities.
Before applying, check out our top tips for how you can add value via our interview process. You will need to:
What motivates you to want to work in Investment Management? We value the different ways that people think. The best way to explore that is to hear from you. Our initial online application form is a quick and easy process designed to take as little time as possible, but designed to really get to know who you are.
You will need to provide an up to date CV.
Please note if you are currently on a Tier 4 student visa, this means you have the right to work in the UK.
Our online testing uses a fun neuroscience-based test to help you show off your best traits. When you submit your application form you will be automatically invited to complete our on-line assessment within 5 days. (Please check you spam/junk mail folder for the invite.)
Business-Line Virtual Interview: This is your first opportunity to connect with the business. We will revert to your answers on ‘motivation’ in your application and will be exploring core strengths to include resilience, curiosity, analytical thinking, innovation and being a self-starter.
This is the final-stage of assessment: During the assessment, you will be involved in a mix of technical, commercial, and motivational interviews, and a technical case study exercise. The day is also a great chance for you to meet different members of the team here at Fidelity and ask any questions you have about the business - this day is as much about you making sure Fidelity is the right place for you as us assessing your strengths.
Stand out at the assessment centre and we’ll offer you a place on the programme. We can assign you a current graduate as a buddy to help with your decision making.
