Sustainable Investing
Who we are
Curious about financial markets and how sustainability factors can influence long-term investment outcomes? Over the course of the programme, you’ll gain insight into ESG research and stewardship, as well as how sustainable investment frameworks are developed and applied across industries and themes.
From day one, you’ll be fully immersed in the team, empowered to contribute, take ownership, and make informed decisions, supported by a wealth of resources including Fidelity’s proprietary research. You’ll sharpen your analytical and critical thinking abilities by assisting on decision-relevant projects for portfolio managers, analysts, clients, and other key stakeholders.
What we do
We integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into our investment decisions whenever we believe they may have a material impact on risk or return, and to differing extents across solutions. Our approach combines rigorous internal research with insights from our dedicated Sustainable Investing team to identify opportunities and mitigate risks that could affect long-term value.
What you will be doing
On our two-year rotational programme, you will rotate and experience key aspects of the Sustainable Investing function, conducting research and analysis, supporting proxy voting and ESG engagement with companies, and helping to enhance Fidelity’s capabilities and client solutions, all while collaborating with various parts of the business and contributing to meeting our sustainability commitments.
We don’t expect you to come in knowing everything about what we do. Whatever they’ve studied, we help make sure graduates get the most out of being a full-time employee.
You’ll conduct research and analysis on ESG themes, as well as assessing the financial materiality of ESG risks and opportunities within sectors or individual companies. You’ll translate the findings into research notes, primers, and/or thought-leadership pieces.
You’ll support engagement with various stakeholders on ESG issues, including proxy voting-related activities and company or issue-specific initiatives.
You’ll contribute to projects that aim to enhance our Sustainable Investing capabilities and solutions, focusing on improving alignment with client demands.
How you will be supported
You’ll start the graduate programme with a comprehensive induction, where you’ll be introduced to investment management and how it fits into financial markets. As you progress, we’ll prepare you to sit the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 1 exam. Once you’ve completed the programme, you’ll be able to carry on exploring career and learning opportunities across Fidelity.
Support is part of our culture, so you’ll have a buddy and a mentor to foster your progression and help you whenever you need. You’ll join a close-knit early careers community, with plenty of social and networking events to help you find your feet and feel at home.
What we look for
It’s who you are that matters here, rather than what you studied. We’re looking for critical thinkers with curiosity, attention to detail, ambition, resilience, comfort with numeracy, and an absolute commitment to serving the best interests of our clients.
We welcome applications from all degree disciplines. You’ll need to be graduating in 2026 and have the right to work in the UK at the time of applying. If you are currently on a Tier 4 or Student Visa, please select that you have the right to work in the UK. As we’re an international organisation, we’ll also need you to speak English.
Our clients come from all walks of life and so do we. We’re proud of our inclusive culture and encourage applications from the widest mix of talent, whatever your age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or social background.
